Class of 2019 recruit Shane Atkins has committed to the Pepperdine University men’s volleyball program. A 6’6″ outside hitter, Atkins is set to join the Waves for the fall of 2019 with his freshman season set for the winter of 2020.

Atkins will be a senior in the fall this upcoming semester at Rocklin High School in California. The lone season that has been recorded on his MaxPreps profile was as a sophomore though when he logged 4.2 kills per set on a .320 hitting percentage, 2.0 digs per set, and 0.6 aces/blocks per set.

On the club side of things, Atkins plays with Bay to Bay Volleyball Club. Some video of his play can be seen below via YouTube:

It’s not the lone Pepperdine commit thus far for 2019 that has been registered in the VolleyMob Recruiting Database. Atkins joins Scott Solan, a 6’7″ left-handed hitting opposite from Nevada.

Pepperdine finished the 2017 season at 15-8 overall and 8-4 in the MPSF. They are also ranked #7 in the Way-Too-Early 2019 VolleyMob Men’s Top 20 Power Rankings.

Beyond stoked to announce my commitment to play D1 volleyball for Pepperdine University. I’m so thankful for everyone that has helped me throughout my volleyball journey. Go Waves 🌊!!
