GREENSBORO, N.C. – Pitt’s Kayla Lund has been named ACC Volleyball Player of the Week, and Syracuse’s Polina Shemanova has been selected as the Freshman of the Week.
Lund had a strong performance in No. 10 Pitt’s sweep of Duke. The sophomore outside hitter from Pasadena, California, racked up 13 kills on a .440 hitting percentage, averaging 4.33 kills per set. Lund added three digs and two total blocks on the match. The win over Duke avenged Pitt’s lone loss of the season.

Shemanova was key in Syracuse’s sweep of Georgia Tech. The rookie outside hitter from St. Petersburg, Russia, tallied 16 kills on a .500 hitting percentage, averaging 5.3 kills per set. Shemanova also had 15 digs in the match, recording her 13th double-double of the season.
