“December 14 will remain as a milestone. With today we started a completely new stage in the development of snow volleyball in Russia,” said Volodarskiy.

The first snow volleyball event held in Russia was held at the Rosa Khutor Resort in Sochi in May. It was an exhibition match played at an altitude of 2,320 meters.

“Last year this sport was officially recognized by the CEV and the first edition of a European Tour was held as well,” said Volodarskiy.

The first European Tour featured stops in the Czech Republic, Austria and Italy. The Russian President and CEV Vice President Stanislav Shevchenko are in strong support with the initiative.
