Wheeling Jesuit’s Abby Moffit receives the NCAA DII Elite 90 Award

Abby Moffit, a junior setter/defensive player at Wheeling Jesuit University Cardinals, is the recipient of the 2016 Division II NCAA Elite 90 award. Moffit is majoring in athletic Training with a cumulative GPA of 3.99 this season.

Moffit was presented the award during the women’s volleyball banquet on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Moffit received this award for NCAA Division II volleyball after recording 71 digs, eight assists and seven aces in 81 sets for the Cardinals this 2016 season.

The Elite 90 is award is given to those student-athletes who have reached the highest academic standard while participating at the final site for each of the NCAA’s sponsored championship. The recipient must be an active traveling sophomore or above and has participated in their sport for at least two years at their university while completing the correct amount of credits necessary towards their degree.

During her career at Wheeling Jesuit, so far Moffit has competed in 50 matches and 139 sets and has tallied 10 total attacks with 1 kill, 21 assists, 3 service aces, and 199 digs.
