The All-Russia Volleyball Federation will keep Stanislav Shevchenko as their president for the next four years.
Shevchenko is a former Soviet Union volleyball player, and more recently has been the president of the All-Russia Volleyball Federation since 2010. Joining Shevchenko on the Board of Admnistration are former National Team coaching legends, Nikolay Karpol who coached the women and Gennady Shipulin for the men, as the new vice-presidents.
A third vice-president has been appointed for beach volleyball matters in Andrey Gorbenko. Aleksandr Yaremenko is the General Secretary of the new 25-member administration.
Karpol has led the Russian women’s National Team to Olympic Gold in Moscow 1980 and Seoul 1988, and silver in Barcelona 1992, Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004. He remains an active member or the legendary club of Uralochka, a team he has been affiliated with since 1969.
Shipulin led the Russian men’s National Team to silver in Sydney 2000 and bronze in Athlens 2004. He remains head of the coaching staff of Belogorie Belgorod in Russia’s Superleague.
