Junior setter Grace Balensiefer has verbally committed to play volleyball at Northern Illinois.
A two-time first team All-North Central Conference honoree at McCutcheon High School in Lafayette, Indiana, Balensiefer led the NCC in assists per set in 2016 with 8.9. The 5-10 setter also added 3.2 digs per set, 81 kills and 32 aces en route to team MVP honors.
Balensiefer announced her commitment via twitter.

Balensiefer was the Journal & Courier Big School Player of the Year as a sophomore, posting 728 assists (7.9 per set, second in the NCC) and 72 aces (first in the NCC). She also chipped in 1.7 digs per set, 56 kills and 22 blocks, while garnering the school’s David Ellison Mental Attitude Award.
As a rookie in 2014, Balensiefer was captain of McCutcheon’s sectional team and earned JV MVP honors.
Balensiefer plays club for the Circle City Volleyball Club in Indianapolis.
