Adam Gordon of San Diego, California has committed to play collegiately at Harvard. He plays for the Coast Volleyball Club and the Francis Parker School under coach John Herman. The Francis Parker School – a dominant force in southern California volleyball that has both an indoor and a beach program.

Gordon is a 6’3″ right-handed outside hitter, which would make him Harvard’s shortest outside hitter when he arrives on campus next season, and in fact will be shorter than both off the Crimson’s returning setters – Matthew Ctvrtlik and Marko Kostich, who are listed at 6’5″ and 6’4″, respectively. He makes up for that lack of size with a 31-inch vertical leap.

Reach numbers:

  • Standing reach – 98 inches (250 cm)
  • Block jump – 125 inches (320 cm)
  • Hit jump – 129 inches (330 cm)

Harvard graduates another southern California product, Casey White, from their crew of outsider hitters. White is averaging a career-best 2.47 kills/set this season and ranks in the top 5 in Harvard history in career digs.
