With the 2017 World Beach Championships coming up later this month in Vienna, Austria, it is time to look at the pools and how the teams compare to each other.
Canadians Sarah Pavan and Melissa Humana-Paredes had plenty to celebrate on Canada Day as the pair won its first FIVB World Tour event of the season, the Porec Major Five Star tournament.
The semifinals for the women in Porec has been set, with teams from Brazil, Canada, the Czech Republic and Switzerland competing for the top prize.
Based on the current points standings, the FIVB has announced the pre-draw placement for the men’s and women’s teams competing at the Beach World Championships in Vienna next month.
USA vs. World format will include seven men’s teams and nine women’s teams from the FIVB World Tour Top 15.
The teams have been announced for the upcoming event in Long Beach Presidents Cup, that will be hosted by the FIVB from July 12-16. The tournament will host eight USA teams, per gender, with them facing some of the top-eight international teams in the games.
The women’s finals have been set, with the conclusion of quarterfinal and semifinal play at the FIVB World Tour event in The Hague.

Once again, Brazilian squads swept the finals of an FIVB World Beach Tour event this season. The four-star tournament was a $300,000 payout event that added 800 points to the top finishers with a $20,000 prize winning.
