St. John’s played in its program record 11th five-setter, outlasting Georgetown. Meanwhile Creighton’s senior class notched its 100th win, while the program broke a season-attendance record in a sweep of Butler.
10th-ranked Creighton remains alone atop Big East standings, earning its 8th-straight victory in 4 sets over Villanova Saturday.
St. John’s rallied from down two sets to secure its first Big East win of the season, downing Xavier. Meanwhile, #13 Creighton, Butler and Marquette won via sweep to round out the night’s action.
Marquette’s Allie Barber was selected as Big East Offensive Player of the Week, teammate Martha Konovodoff was Defensive Player of the Week; while St. John’s rookie Rachele Rastelli earned Freshman honors.
