Senior Anna Walsh joined the 1,000-career kills club with 10 kills in TCU’s 5 set loss to 6th-ranked Texas Wednesday night in front of a sold out Rickel in Fort Worth, Texas. The 6-2 middle blocker, who has 1,007 in her career thus far, is the 11th player in Horned Frogs’ history to reach the milestone.

Walsh, who began her college career at Virginia, tallied 301 kills as a freshman in 2015. After transferring to TCU, she added 206 kills as a sophomore in 2016 and 328 as a junior in 2017. Through 15 matches this season, Walsh has compiled 172 kills, which is 2nd on the team behind freshman elan McCall’s 227.
The Grapevine, Texas, native was named to the AVCA All-Southwest Region Team, NIVC All-Tournament Team and All-Big 12 Second Team following the 2017 season. Walsh led the team with 328 kills (2.98 per set) and hit .308 on the year. She was also heralded as AVCA All-East Coast Region Freshman of the Year and named to the ACC All-Freshman Team in 2015.

So far in 2018, TCU has played to a 10-5 mark overall and a 2-2 record in Big 12 action. The Horned Frogs have wins over Oklahoma and Kansas State and fell to Kansas and Texas in conference play.
