As part of her weekly media availability in Austin this week, Texas redshirt junior outside hitter Ebony Nwanebu, in her first full season after transferring from USC, talks about the Longhorns’ approach early in their Big 12 schedule.

The Longhorns, at 4-0, sit atop the Big 12 Conference and are currently ranked 4th in the AVCA National polls – or as the top-ranked non-Big-Ten team.

Last week, Texas topped Kansas State 3-2 and Oklahoma 3-1 as they prepare for a home game against Iowa State on Saturday as their only game of the new week.

In the video, Nwanebu also says that she thinks sitting out last season with a lower back injury made her a better player, as she learned both how to be a better teammate, and learned more about what the coaching staff is looking for.

Nwanebu says that Texas’ hitters this season are preaching patience this season, and so far that has worked for the Longhorns.
