Three locations have been added to the 2017 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour calendar.
Rio de Janeiro will be added as a double gender four-star event from May 19-21. With the location being added, it means that there are now three four-star events in the 2017 tournament, along with Olsztyn, Poland and Lucerne in Switzerland.
The other two locations will be two-star women-only events taking place in Nanjing and Nantong, China. Nanjing will bring in the players from June 16-18, with Nantong running from June 23-25. These two playing locations are known as the Silk Tour.

On top of these events, Nanjing is also set to host the FIVB Beach Volleyball U21 World Championships from July 11-16.
The five-star event structure is being instituted for the 2017 FIVB World Tour. It is a step being taken by the FIVB to modernize and streamline its competitions in what is the golden period for beach volleyball coming off the 2016 Rio Olympic Games and the first step towards the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
The 2017 World Tour is set to being in less than a month, starting with the Fort Lauderdale Major Series that begins February 7-12. The Swatch FIVB World Tour Finals mark the end of the 2017 season which runs from August 22-27.
A three-star event in Qinzhou, China will mark the beginning of the 2017/18 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour on October 11-15.
