Turkish Women: VakifBank Trounces Ilbank To Stay Unbeaten

0 Carly DeMarque | November 07th, 2017 | News, Pro Indoor, Turkish League

Round 6 of the Vestel Venus Sultanlar Ligi has shown a great divide between the top-three teams in the league and the rest of the pack. Fenerbahce, Eczacibasi and VakifBank all remain untested in the league with perfect 6-0 record, while the closest teams to them have 3-3 records.

Those same three squads that run the rankings, ran the show in the league this week, all completing sweeps over their opponents with ease while there were no five-set matches across the board.

Both Kelsey Robinson and Melis Durul posted 10 points in the win to lead all players in scoring.

Also posting a strong win was Eczacibasi VitrA, as they took the match to rest some players as well. Hande Baladin led the team with 13 points while Tijana Boskovic and Beyza Arici added another 12 and 11 points, respectively. Fenerbahce also continued their winning ways with a sweep over Nilufer with Mia Jerkov posting a match-best 17 points along with Eda Erdem Dundar and Natalia Pereira‘s 11 and 10 points, respectively.
