The 2017 Invictus Games are around the corner, with 550 competitors in 12 different adaptive sports from 17 countries ready to compete in Toronto.
The United State Department of Defense named the 90 athletes who will compete in the Invictus Games from September 23-30.
The Invictus games were founded in 2014 by the United Kingdom’s Prince Harry. The concept for the Invictus Games are based off the U.S.’s Warrior Games, which both are designed to use the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and generate a wider understanding of, and respect for, those who serve their country and loved ones.
The 12 sports that are included in the games are archery, athletics, indoor rowing, powerlifting, road cycling, sitting volleyball, swimming, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair tennis, wheelchair rugby and the newest addition golf.
