The top-nine in this week’s top-15 Coaches Poll remain the same with the shake ups occurring in the back half of the poll.
Entering the top-10 for the first time this season is USC (previously #11) after they topped Cal Baptist twice this week, clinching their berth into the MPSF tournament.
Ball State jumped up two positions to #11 with a win over previously ranked #10 Loyola in a sweep – taking the upper hand over Loyola in the MIVA tournament by one point. With the loss Loyola falls two positions to #12.
Others to fall were Penn State who dropped to #13 from #12 last week, while CSUN fell to #15 from #14.
#14 Grand Canyon is on track for their best season in Division I play, now holding the #14 rank. The squad has yet to complete the fourth necessary seasons in Division I play to qualify for the NCAA Tournament, being able to next season. The team also picked up the #3 seed in their final season with the MIVA before making the transition to the MPSF for the 2018 season.
Among top teams in the standings, Long Beach State remains in the top position, holding 21 of the first place votes, while Ohio State holds onto #2 with two first place votes. #3 BYU holds behind the Buckeyes, receiving one first place vote and 12 total points under Ohio State.
