USC’s Khalia Lanier Named AVCA Player Of The Week

This week’s AVCA Player of the Week comes out of the Pac-12 in USC’s Khalia Lanier as she helped the Trojans to two top-25 wins this past week. In total, Lanier posted 38 kills for an average of 4.22 kills per set on a .319 hitting clip and 23 digs that includes a double-double in the team’s win over Colorado for her sixth of the year.

In the team’s upset over Utah, Lanier put down 17 kills and nine digs while recording 21 kills, four aces and 14 digs in the win over Colorado. The wins helped the Trojans move up to #14 from #17 in the AVCA Coaches Poll.

In addition, Lanier picked up the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week for her performances this week.

This is USC’s 10th AVCA Player of the Week honor, with the last coming on November 10, 2015, when Samantha Bricio took home the award.
