After leading South Florida in kills and kills per set as a freshman, outside hitter Doris Carter is transferring from the program to attend Alabama. Carter will be a sophomore with three years left of play for the Crimson Tide. It’d be likely she will be immediately eligible as she changes conferences, though it is not confirmed at the moment.
In Carter’s first season with the team, she recorded 255 kills (2.71 per set) on a .194 mark, 134 digs (1.43 per set), 39 blocks (0.41 per set) and four aces. A profile that was done by the American Athletic Conference can be seen below:
The loss at outside hitter leaves USF with three returning outside hitters for 2018. Last season they went 13-18 and 7-13 playing in the AAC.
Alabama finished 2017 at 18-14 overall and 6-12 playing in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Their 2017 roster featured seven outside hitters with one senior, meaning plenty of competition should join Carter at the position group in 2018.
Will be spending my next 3 years as a college athlete at the University of Alabama ? #ROLLTIDE ❤️
