Every day at VolleyMob we will preview several of the most notable and interesting matches in NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball. We will offer an inside look at some of those top matchups each day as we carry along through the 2017 season.
Week seven continues into the season after just five matches on Monday with double-digits on Tuesday. All of those include smaller conferences, but that doesn’t change how important they are in helping to weed out conference races as teams look to emerge toward an NCAA Tournament bid.

THE BIG MATCH:
Maryland Eastern Shore (14-5, 1-0) at VCU (16-2, 3-0) – 6 pm ET

A late non-conference tilt in the middle of conference play highlights today’s day of action as two potential mid-major NCAA Tournament teams at the top of their conferences clash.
Playing in the MEAC as two-time defending conference champions, visiting Maryland East Shore has won 13 of their last 16 matches after starting the year 1-2 with two five-set losses. They have a balanced offense led by a pair of potential all-conference picks in Iva Vujosevic and Lucia Babic who both have over 200 kills and are hitting .281 and .290 respectively.
The Rams will be hosting this match as they look to continue their 13 match and set winning streak. Of those 13 matches, nine have been sweeps, including the last four. Beyond combining for over 200 kills as a tandem, Tori Baldwin and Jasmin Sneed have been lethal defensively as they combine to average 3.08 blocks per set. The matchup between that block and the Hawks’ attack should determine the result in this one.

Denver (11-4, 2-1) at Omaha (6-10, 3-0) – 8 pm ET

Denver and Omaha are two of the premiere teams in the Summit League this season as the Mavericks are looking to unseat the Pioneers as conference champs. So far, Omaha is the leader in that regard after a difficult non-conference schedule. Now they get their marquee chance to prove they are here to contend and stay near the top as they welcome Denver to their home floor.
