Volley Bergamo has created their mantra for their 2018 Solidarity Calendar – “Stop Violence Against Women.” The volleyball club has always paid a close eye at social issues that are present in society, and with sexual-assault accusations against top Hollywood actors and producers along with many others around the world, it seemed like a no-brainer for the club.

“In previous editions of our calendar, we have always tried to inspire a smile. This year we should instead a message: do not touch women. Respect women,” said Bergamo’s Volleyball Chairman, Luciano Bonetti. “Volley Bergamo, is always attentive to social issues, this year has chosen to draw attention to the plague of our society that must be stopped. Our athletes have once again become a testimonial to a campaign we would like to have the utmost resonance.”

The day prior to the World Day against Violence Against Women, Volley Bergamo spoke on their partnership with the Women’s Aid Association – Exit from Violence.

The 2018 calendar presents thirteen images that face a tough reality that should not exist: the phenomenon of male violence against women. The photos taken were done by photographer Antonio Finazzi.
