After winning three matches to ranked foes this past week the Stetson duo of Kristin Lind and Darby Dunn take the first ever VolleyMob Beach Pair of the Week honors.
With their tremendous beach play this weekend, Lind and Dunn were able to help the Hatters crack the top-10 of this weeks rankings, moving from #13 to #9. On top of VolleyMob’s Beach Pair of the Week, duo earned this weeks ASUN Beach Pair of the week for the second time this season. Lind has collected four, while Dunn has earn two ASUN Pair of the Week honors.
At the Gamecock Grand Slam, the #2 pair for Stetson helped lead the Hatters to tight victories over #9 Georgia State 2-1, (21-11, 16-21, 15-12) and #9 South Carolina 2-1, (21-17, 19-21, 15-10).
Against #1 USC, Lind and Dunn won the match in a close three set match 2-1, (24-22, 12-21, 16-14) with Dunn recording the game-winning block in extra points, making it the only loss for the Trojans in the match up. The victory over USC was the 75th of Lind’s career. The duo’s only loss of the Grand Slam came to #4 Florida State in straight sets.
Lind and Dunn have now moved to 11-6 as partners.
The duo will take to the sand again this weekend, looking to continue their hot streak as they take on North Florida and Jacksonville in a pair of matches between each team.
