Stetson’s Lind & Dunn Bring Home Second ASUN Beach Pair Of The Week

ASUN Conference Beach Volleyball Weekly Honors were handed down to No. 9 Stetson’s Kristin Lind and Darby Dunn, as announced by the league office this Tuesday, after the two earned a trio of decisions over top-10 ranked opponents.

Kristin Lind and Darby Dunn take home their second ASUN Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week honor of 2017 for their performance at this week’s Gamecock Grand Slam. Stetson’s No. 2 pair finished 3-1 on the week, while participating in four matches with squads ranked within the top-10 nationally. Lind and Dunn started the week with a three-set win over then-ranked No. 9 Georgia State’s second seed followed by a win over No. 9 South Carolina’s No. 2 pair. The duo tallied Stetson’s lone match win against No. 1 USC, handing the Trojans’ pair of Sophie Bukovec and Allie Wheeler just their third loss of the season. The win was Lind’s 75th of her career as the two Hatters moved to 11-6 on the year and helped Stetson jump from No. 13 to No. 9 in the most recent AVCA Coaches Poll.

Stetson finished the week 2-2 as a team and will open up conference play this Friday with contests against North Florida and Jacksonville. The Hatters won the ASUN Beach Volleyball regular season title last year, posting a record of 7-1 against conference opponents.
