At 18 years old, Olympic gold medalist, Alison Cerutti of Brazil, made the transition from indoor to beach volleyball. Everyone deemed him as very, very slow.

One day, a friend said that he was something like a mammoth, in which, Cerutti stuck to, as he began to like and imbrace the name. It is now Cerutti’s nickname, also barring a tattoo of the beast on his rib cage.

“But the most incredible thing is – who would have thought that one day a mammoth could become a World Champion,” said Cerutti.
