The finals are set up for the 2017 NVA Las Vegas Showcase with Academy United and Blizzard Volleyball facing off against each other for a chance at the gold. This is the first event in the new National Volleyball Association that was announced just under a month ago.
Academy was able to get through Rising Tide in four sets in the semifinals 3-1, (21-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-21) while Blizzard swept through Arizona Sizzle to advance to the gold medal match 3-0, (25-23, 25-18, 25-19)
Academy United features beach start Taylor Crabb on their side while Blizzard has former U.S. National Teamer Russell Holmes guiding their team through the competition.
