WCC Volleyball: Sweeps Own Thursday Night

Top-ranked BYU, San Diego and Loyola Marymount swept past their opponents, while Pepperdine won its 8th-straight against San Francisco in 4 sets Thursday night in West Coast Conference action.

Top-ranked BYU continued its undefeated 2018 season (14-0, 4-0 WCC) with a victory over Gonzaga in straight sets. It marks the Cougars 6th-straight sweep, 4 of which have occurred in West Coast Conference action.

BYU registered a .376 attack percentage, while silencing the Bulldog offense (.054) with 9 blocks on the night. The Cougars were also dominant in serve-receive, as they recorded 8 service aces in the 3-set victory.

The Toreros outhit (.427 to .144) and outblocked (10 to 3) the Pilots to register the one-sided victory. San Diego now leads Portland, 54-9 in the all-time series.
