Webber International Announces Hiring Of Lindsey Martin As Head Coach

Athletic Director, Darren Richie and the athletic department have announced the hiring of new head volleyball coach Lindsey Martin.

Coach Lindsey Martin has been announced the head volleyball coach at Webber International University. She brings motivation, dedication, knowledge and a wealth of experience to the newly appointed position. When asked about the newly appointed position coach Martin said, “I am elated and honored by the opportunity to become the new head volleyball coach at Webber International University. The tradition of excellence that is associated with the Warriors athletic programs is second to none and only illustrated by the recent success of the Webber International volleyball team.” Coach Martin will be taking over the Webber volleyball team that is fresh off of the best record in program and school history at 28-3.

Martin’s coaching career started off at NCAA D-I Cal Poly in 2004-05, as she was a student assistant under head coach Jon Stevenson. From 2009-14, she spent time as an assistant coach at Moorpark Community College, Colorado Christian University and Metropolitan State University of Denver. She has taken on 3 club teams as head coach and recruiting coordinators for Front Range Volleyball Club, Rocky Select Volleyball Club and 303 Volleyball Club. Her most recent coaching position was the head coach at Johnson & Wales University of Denver, where she had held the title since 2015 and was the first full-time coach in the athletic program. Athletic Director, Darren Richie stated, “Coach Martin brings a wide variety of experience at the NCAA, NAIA and Junior College level that will enhance our programs. Coach Martin’s work ethic, dedication and attention to detail gives our volleyball program the leader it needs to continue the success it has experienced over the last few years. We are excited to welcome her and look forward to this coming season.”

Along with coach Martin’s coaching experience, she brings along an impressive educational background. She graduated in 2007 with a Bachelors in Science majoring in Kinesiology with a concentration in Pre-Occupational Therapy from California Polytechnic State University. Martin also received her Masters of Education from the Educational Leadership and Administration Program with a concentration in Athletic Administration from California Polytechnic State University. In 2013 she furthered her education again as she graduated with a Masters of Science in Physical Education/Kinesiology with concentration in College Level Coaching & Administration from Azusa Pacific University.

Webber International University welcomes Coach Martin and looks forward to the success she brings to the Warriors volleyball program.
