WEEKEND INFORMATION

Friday, Oct. 6 – WKU vs. Southern Miss | 6 p.m. CT | Stats | Video

WKU enters the tilt with a 13-match winning streak dating back to the first weekend of September. More impressively, the Lady Toppers are currently tied with former Conference USA member, Louisville, for the league record of 29-straight wins over C-USA squads including regular season and postseason action. Another remarkable streak on the line is the Lady Toppers’ 47-straight victories over Conference USA foes from inside Diddle Arena.

Southern Miss will head to Bowling Green to open weekend play before returning home to host UTEP on Sunday afternoon. The Golden Eagles are one of five league teams with just one loss in conference play through the first two weekend of interleague play. On the year, Southern Miss owns a 12-7 record while going 2-1 in C-USA tilts, posting wins over North Texas and Marshall. The sides do not have any common opponents entering weekend action.

The Golden Eagles return 13 letterwinners from last year’s 23-8 squad. Four starters plus the libero return from head coach Amanda Berkley’s team as well.

WKU owns the all-time series lead with a 3-1 mark in program history over USM. The last three meetings have all resulted in 3-1 Lady Topper victories.

Both side’s setters, Jessica Lucas for WKU and Sarah Bell from Southern Miss, are the only two setters across Conference USA to be named the league’s Setter of the Week. Bell won the season’s opening honor before Lucas has nabbed the next five accolades.

Looking ahead, WKU will close out regular season non-conference play with a Tuesday tilt against a surging Austin Peay squad. Match time is slated for 7 p.m. CT from Diddle Arena.
