Fresh off of its second tournament win in the first three weekends of the 2017 season, WKU Volleyball (9-2) has a tough road ahead with four-straight matches against NCAA Tournament teams from a year ago. The Lady Toppers are headed for a Tuesday night matchup with Lipscomb in Nashville to open the challenging slate.

Lipscomb currently owns a 4-4 record on the 2017 season after facing a talented schedule through the first three weeks of the campaign. The Lady Toppers and Bisons faced a common opponent in East Tennessee State, which saw both of Tuesday night’s squads victorious. The hosts will enter the midweek matchup losing their last three matches, while WKU will head to Nashville, Tenn., carrying a five-match win streak.

WKU has won the last five meetings with the Atlantic Sun foes, and owns an all-time record of 9-1 over Lipscomb. The 2016 contest in Bowling Green did not disappoint, as it went the distance with WKU stealing the win, 3-2. All nine other matches have been sweeps. Each of the 10 meetings have taken place during the Travis Hudson era on The Hill.

Lipscomb returns 10 letterwinners from last season’s 13-man squad as well as half of its starters. The Bisons went 22-8 last season, winning the Atlantic Sun Conference title.

Coming off of a productive weekend, the Lady Toppers seem to be firing on all cylinders and are hitting at a collective .311 offensive clip while holding opponents to a .192 rate. After throwing a block party Friday night in a primetime match up with Pittsburgh, WKU is now averaging 2.33 blocks per set.

Following Tuesday’s match at Lipscomb, WKU Volleyball will head to Columbus, Ohio, to the Buckeye Invitational. With No. 25 Ohio State as the host in addition to Dayton and Northern Illinois in the field, WKU will look to pick up a few more big wins.
