After having a great season with Uralochka-NTMK, the team has announced they have resigned Xenia Parubets for another five years.

The Russian has been an intricate part of the team in the past, with the leadership of the club noting that keeping Parubets was crucial to the team’s future success.

“I am very happy to stay in the home team, I myself really wanted the contract for the long term with Uralochka,” said Parubets.

With the conclusion of the club scene, Parubets has now moved on to train with the Russian national team. In 2015, the Russian squad won the gold medal at the European Championships, but Parubets was not included on the team that competed in the Olympics. Parubets will train with the Russian national team for the World Cup qualifying matches.

Uralochka came up short this past season in the Russian Superleague, falling to Dinamo Kazan in the semifinals. Parubets was a consistent leader in points for the team throughout the season, with the team’s final match to Dinamo, Parubets produced a match-best 30 points.

Overall in the Russian Superleague, Uralochka is the most decorated team in the league with 14 titles and were the 2016 runner-up in the league.
