The 2017 Women’s NCAA season might be over but teams are gearing up for the 2018 season with a number of top-notch spring matches.

It is going to be a jam-packed spring slate for some teams, playing some tough competition in their offseason training months. Of the team’s with a tough upcoming schedule is Creighton, who will face off against Iowa State and Wisconsin, both teams that finished in the top-25 from the 2017 season. In 2017, the Bluejays went 26-7 on the year advancing to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament before losing to Michigan State. Their opponents this spring also moved deep into the NCAA Tournament with Iowa State making it to the second round while Wisconsin fell to Stanford in the Sweet 16.

Colorado State has also picked up a number of big spring matches as they will take on Wichita State, Kansas and Colorado. Kentucky also fancies a strong spring slate, set to face off against Louisville and Illinois next month.

Kicking off the can’t miss matches of the spring season are Utah and BYU, two tough and growing west coast schools. The two programs will face off against each other twice in the spring season starting with a match on February 24 and a follow-up match on March 9. The Utes impressed in the 2017 season, finishing with the #11 rank in the AVCA poll. Utah also made it to the Sweet 16 where they lost to Texas in a heated five-set match. BYU met a similar fate in their Sweet 16 match, as they fell to Kentucky in five to end their season with a 30-3 record.
