Talk about getting a head-start. At the age in which most girls are still playing high school ball, Spain’s Raquel Montoro, only 15 years old, made her first appearance on the bench with her National Team after the last minute injury of Ana Correa. Spain swept Bosnia & Herzogovina 3-0, and Montoro’s services weren’t needed on the court, but it still started her clock as the future of Spanish volleyball. Here is the day’s recap:

Quote of the Day
Montenegro did not have a field day against Norway, having to play at its peak to secure a win. Captain Tatjana Bokan helped her team by scoring 8 first set points. She was there once again at the end, closing out the fourth set with a spike 27/25, as Norway was inches away from forcing a tie break. When all was said and done, Bokan gifted fans with a stellar 21-point performance on 48% hitting:
“It was a good match, as how we say in our country ‘it was won on muscle’.”
