Just three days after sweeping #4 Texas at Maples Pavilion, #2 Stanford continued its dominance over the Longhorns, this time with a four-set win, in Gregory Gymnasium in Austin, Texas.
In the opening set, Texas got its crowd into the match early by scoring the first two points of the set.

But from there, it was all Stanford. The Cardinal used a 7-1 spurt to grab a 10-5 advantage. Stanford remained aggressive and extended its lead to as many as nine and took the first set, 25-16.
Stanford led from start to finish in the second set, claiming a 2-0 advantage with a 25-18 win. The Cardinal made just two errors on the attack and hit .353 as a team. Texas hit just .184 in the set and scored seven of its 18 points off Stanford’s service errors.
The third set belonged to Texas. The Longhorns scored the first three points of the set, stymied every Stanford rally and forced a fourth set with a 25-20 win. The Longhorns were much more aggressive and efficient on the attack, hitting .419 for the set while limiting Stanford to just .184. Texas also made just two attack errors compared to Stanford’s seven.

Stanford got back to business in the fourth set. The Cardinal grabbed an early 5-4 lead and would not trail the rest of the set, as it finished Texas off, 25-18.
MATCH NOTABLES
- Stanford outside hitter Kathryn Plummer tallied 18 kills and 10 digs, and dished up two aces. Middle blocker Tami Alade chipped in 14 kills and Audriana Fitzmorris registered 11.
- Stanford libero Morgan Hentz had a match-high 27 digs.
- Texas outside hitter Micaya White led the Longhorns with 11 kills. Middle blocker Brionne Butler and outside hitter Yasmeen Bedart-Ghani each added nine.
- Stanford hit .315 while holding Texas to a .231 hitting clip.
- The teams combined for 33 service errors. Texas had 17 and zero aces while Stanford had 16 errors, but managed four aces.
- Stanford improves to 20-7 all-time against Texas, including Tuesday’s sweep in Palo Alto, California.
