After successfully reaching a contract buy-out with Turkish club Eczacibasi, Thaisa Daher has been announced by Brazilian club Hinode/Barueri as the newest permanent addition to its roster. Thaisa played with the club last season on a loan, but decided to stay in Brazil citing Eczacibasi’s mishandling of her injury as the major reason for her decision. She will play under coach José Roberto Guimarães. Together, they have won two Olympic gold medals. Here is what both parties had to say of the news (globo.com):

“It’s great to have Thaisa for a second year at Hinode Barueri. She is an experienced player and has had a successful career. Last season, she treated her injury and worked hard toward her physical recovery. She returned to play in the final part of the last Superliga and is a reference player in our project. We have a homogeneous group and the expectation is to have an excellent season.”

– I’m very happy to be with Hinode Barueri again. This time, with a little more time to prepare and help the team. I think it’s great to be with the full coaching staff, because I’ve been working with most of them for over 12 years. They know me well and I know them well. Nothing better than that. I’m working hard and each day that passes I improve my physique and my rhythm. I know it’s not something that comes back like a snap of your fingers. It is a process of much training, games, rhythm. I know I’m doing my best.”
