The schedule has been set for the inaugural beach volleyball competition at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. The Games are less than two months away and will take place in Gold Coast, Australia from April 6-12.
The pools for the competition were determined a month ago but the full schedule was still set to be determined. The tournament will feature 12 men’s and women’s teams that are split into three pools of four teams. Each team will play three preliminary round matches, based on their pool and will be reseeded into the quarterfinals based on the top-eight teams of the early stages of the competition. From there, the semifinals will take place on April 11 followed by the bronze/gold medal matches on April 12.

A number of top teams from around the world have qualified for the event, with Canada having the best odds of winning the competition. Out of Canada, Sarah Pavan and Melissa Humana-Parades will represent the women while Sam Pedlow/Sam Schachter will compete on the men’s side.
Other teams to qualify for the event so far are:
- New Zealand’s Kelsie Wills/Shaunna Polley and Sam O’Dea/Ben O’Dea
- Fiji’s Korawale/Elliot and Nima/Ratudina
