Fiji Men/Women Beach Duos Qualify For 2018 Commonwealth Games

Fiji secured a men’s and women’s pair for the 2018 Commonwealth Games that are set to take place in April 2018 in Gold Coast, Australia. The duos earned their spot in the competition at the Oceania Commonwealth Games Beach Volleyball Qualifier.

For the women, Nima/Ratudina won all four matches in round-robin play and advanced to the finals against Solomon Islands’ Gwali/U’Una in straight sets 2-0, (21-19, 21-19). Despite not making it to the finals, Chilia/Aru of Vanuatu has already qualified for the Games following their play in the 2017 FIVB World Tour.

On the men’s side, Fiji’s Korowale/Elliot defeated Papua New Guinea’s Mea/Kilarupa in three sets 2-1, (21-18, 18-21, 15-8).
