Favorites Advance At European Championships (Day 3 Highlight Video)

2017 CEV EUROPEAN WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIPS

Following day three of the 2017 CEV European Women’s Championships, both Serbia and Italy have advanced directly to the quarterfinal round. Italy will take on the winner of Croatia vs. the Netherlands while Serbia will face off against the victors of Belarus and Republic Republic.

The hosts of the tournament, Azerbaijan have been on a role at the tournament, with just one more match to go – Germany.

Three countries were eliminated from the tournament following day three – host Georgia, Hungary and Belgium. Each of the three each team’s went 0-3 in pool play, which booted them from the tournament. Pool C has one more day of play, to which either the Ukraine or Turkey will be eliminated as both teams sit at 0-2 records so far.
