The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) has launched an official WeChat account (done on June 20th) in preparation for the Volleyball Nation’s League (VNL) women’s finals in Nanjing, China. The account will help them reach millions of Chinese fans throughout the event.

It will offer fans additional access to the latest news, photos and clips from their favorite players, along with exclusive content throughout the VNL Finals. Additionally, it allows fans to interact with each other, which creates the opportunity for an online volleyball community in the country which would help grow the sport immensely. The name of the account is: 国际排球联合会FIVB.

“There is a huge passion for volleyball in China and we are seeing that grow more and more each day,” FIVB President Ary Graça said. “China has hosted a number of elite events in recent years, and with the VNL Women’s Finals coming up, there has never been a better time to launch our official WeChat account!”.

In March, WeChat hit 1 billion monthly active users, and will be a great tool as the sport continues to improve fan experience.

The women’s finals got underway on Wednesday (June 27th) in Nanjing, and will run through the rest of the week until Sunday, July 1st.
