Swiss duo Anouk Verge-Depre and Joana Heidrich reveal their personalities in an interview with the FIVB at the start of the 2017 Rio Open. In the video, the 25-year olds who formed a new partnership this year after their respective former partners retire, talk about themselves and each other. Verge-Depre is revealed as the more casual one of the pair. Her favorite memory as playing “ball kid” for her father, a coach, and her favorite food is chocolate.
For Heidrich, meanwhile, she lists her greatest beach volleyball memory as watching the inspiring Olympic success of her male Swiss counterparts, her partner says her favorite food is fresh fruit, and she lists her #1 hobby as reading.
The two haven’t had the best of results early on in their partnership, finishing tied for just 17th in Fort Lauderdale and earning the same spot this week in Rio, but with an upcoming tournament in Gstadd, Switzerland on the horizon, they’ll have a rallying-point in early July.
