Abilene Christian is bolstering its roster through two transfer additions as they are adding Lexie Rawls from Baylor and Eighmy Dobbins from Texas Tech. Both players are joining the indoor teams for the fall of 2018 as well as the beach teams in the upcoming spring.

A 5’6″ defensive specialist/libero from Lubbock, Texas, Rawls attended Baylor for one semester after graduating from Trinity Christian. She appeared in one match in 2017 and will be a freshman for the beach season and a sophomore come the fall.

“I really loved my team at Baylor,” Rawls said in the team’s release of the addition. “I worked with an awesome coach and staff, but felt I could compete better at this level. My older brother (Hunter) also golfed here and he loved the school and community, so I’ve come here to grow spiritually and as a volleyball player.”

Dobbins, a 5’10” outside hitter from San Antonio, Texas will be a sophomore for the beach season and a junior in the fall. After graduating from Argyle High School she attended Texas Tech for two seasons of play. As a freshman she saw action in five matches before the number was doubled as a sophomore.

“I was kind of looking at ACU before my first commitment,” Dobbins added in the release, “and I really liked the Abilene community, but decided to take a chance on Texas Tech. But I just wanted to play more and felt ACU would be the perfect place to complete my collegiate career.”

Indoors, Abilene Christian went 13-18 this past season and 7-9 in conference action. In the sand, the season starts up on February 24 as they head to the road to take on Arizona.
