American Lauren Gibbemeyer Transfers To Novara For 2017-18 Season

After three seasons with Pomi Casalmaggiore, American middle blocker Lauren Gibbemeyer will join Igor Gorgonzola Novara for the 2017-18 season.

With Pomi, Gibbemeyer helped the team to the Italian league title along with the Italian Super Cup in 2015. Her professional career began with Toyota Auto Body Queenseis in the Japanese league in the 2011-12 season. From there, Gibbemeyer made the change to the Italian league for the first time, joining Robursport Volley Pesaro for 2012-13. The following season, Gibbemeyer moved to the Azerbaijani Superleague to play with Lokomotiv Baku for half a season before heading back to Italy to play with Imoco Conegliano.

In 2011, Gibbemeyer was called up to the U.S. National Team where she helped the team to the bronze medal at the Pan American Games. At the 2015 FIVB World Grand Prix, Gibbemeyer helped Team USA to gold. Gibbemeyer also participated with the U.S. National Team at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
