A 2016 AVCA All-America Honorable Mention performer Taylor Louis is on the move as the outside hitter/right side is headed to Iowa for the 2017 season. Louis will be a redshirt junior in 2017 and have two years left of eligibility.

Originally from Skokie, Illinois, the 6’2″ Louis attended Niles North High School where she holds the school’s career kills mark. She then attended Marquette in 2014 where she redshirted in her first year. As a redshirt freshman in 2015, Louis recorded over 600 kills (4.93 per set) to go with 256 digs. Last year as a third-year sophomore, Louis was a member of the 2016 First-Team All-Big East list.

In her two years combined, Louis totaled 1,148 kills. She was also the fastest player in Golden Eagle history to reach 1,000 kills. In addition to the stats and accolades, she was also a part of two Marquette teams that made the NCAA Tournament, even getting a win in 2015.

Louis will now join former Marquette coach Bond Shymansky, who recruited Louis to Marquette. She also becomes the third transfer that the Hawkeyes have hauled in for 2017. Louis joins Maggie Revell from Sam Houston State and Kelsey O’Neill from Pittsburgh. Iowa adds that collection to a team that went 19-13 (9-11 Big Ten) last season but just missed out on the NCAA Tournament.
