April Ross/Lauren Fendrick Fight Past 3 Setter To Enter Finals Of NYC

The semifinal round of the AVP Tour stop in New York City has concluded with Summer Ross and Brooke Sweat to face Lauren Fendrick and April Ross in the finals.

After a tough first set, with back and forth play and points exceeding the normal ending point of 21 points, Summer Ross/Sweat were able to down DiCello/Stockman to head into the finals.

Summer Ross has the best hitting percentage in the tournament going into the finals with 70 kills on 124 attacks with just eight errors for a .500 hitting percentage. Sweat in ranked fourth with 52 kills and a .478 hitting mark.

In the match, Summer Ross put down a total of 23 kills, 10 digs, two block and two service aces, while Sweat added another 15 kills and 11 blocks. DiCello led all players in the match with 27 kills and four blocks.

Fendrick and April Ross were able to make a comeback after dropping the first set of the match to take down Day/Hochevar to enter the finals.

Fendrick now has 11 total blocks in the tournament, adding up to 1.22 blocks per set. April Ross comes in fifth in hitting efficiency, with 77 total kills with a .472 hitting percentage.

April Ross added to her kills total, with 23 kills in the match including 18 digs and five service aces while Fendrick added another nine kills, three digs and four blocks. Day put down 19 kills, three blocks and three aces while Hochevar added 16 kills and 14 digs in the loss.
