The top four seeds of the third-annual Pac-12 Beach Volleyball Championship advanced on the first day of the event held at Stanford Beach Volleyball Stadium in Stanford, Calif., including top-ranked and top-seeded UCLA, which swept its opponent, 5-0, to move on to the second day.

Purdue’s Evans Earns Big Ten Medal of Honor
Ashley Evans, a setter from Liberty Township, Ohio, was named as a Big Ten Medal of Honor recipient. As a senior, she earned All-America and Academic All-America honors, becoming just the fourth student-athlete in program history to do so in the same season. Evans is the first Big Ten volleyball student-athlete to be named an Academic All-American three times.
