BYU’s Olmstead Proud to Be Here but “This Group Definitely Wants More”

BYU has been knocking on the door the last two years, falling in the National Championship match to Ohio State. The Cougars are seeking their first national title since 2004 and received the No. 2 overall seed and a bye to the semifinals after winning the MPSF regular season and tournament titles. But, Coach Shawn Olmstead said the team wants more.

Knipe Says LBSU “Staying in the Routine of the Things We Can Control”

As the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, LBSU earned a bye to the Final Four, but head coach Alan Knipe says that the team will continue its weekly routine of attempting to reach small goals of one or two percent improvement even in the final week of the season.

P1440 Announces Prize Money for 2018 Season Totalling $1.2 Million

P1440 reveals that the prize money for the series will be just midway between that of the FIVB four and five star events. Each of the four events will feature a $300,000 prize purse, split evently between the men’s and women’s players, $150,000 for each gender, totalling $1.2 million for the year.

Garcia Fernandez Named AVCA Newcomer of Year Among 47 All-Americans

The AVCA announced its Division I-II Men’s All-America Teams on Monday with 10 players each earning first and second team honors and 27 garnering honorable mention accolades. Loyola senior Jeff Jendryk wrapped up his fourth honor, while BYU rookie Gabi Garcia Fernandez was tabbed as Newcomer of the Year.

UCLA’s Speraw Hoping “We Can Pull This Off, Just in the Nick of Time”

UCLA head coach John Speraw has been tweaking his offense throughout the season and says his Bruins are athletic, but not refined, heading into the NCAAs. “We had a long, long way to go, so for us to get to this place and have an opportunity, I think is a success.
