The Ins & Outs of NCAA Beach Championship Selection

The NCAA Beach Championships field will be announced at 7 p.m. ET tonight (April 29) live on NCAA.com. Ahead of the announcement, VolleyMob checked in with NCAA Director of Championships and Alliances Kristin Fasbender to get the ins and outs of the selection process, including its regional nature, the criteria for selection and more. Ohio State Hits .528 Behind Szerszen, Hanes, Leeson in 3-0 NCAA Win

The three-headed hydra of senior outside hitter Nicolas Szerszen, redshirt freshman opposite Jake Hanes and redshirt junior middle Blake Leeson, each notched double-digit kills and hit nearly .600 or better, lifting Ohio State to a close 25-13, 25-23, 25-18 win over King in the NCAA play-in match Thursday night.

Inside The Numbers: A Look at the Men’s Volleyball Week 16 Statistics

Lincoln Memorial edged past BYU for the top spot in team blocking with 2.84 stuffs per set, while King, which won the Conference Carolinas title and will be making its NCAA debut on Thursday, dropped its nation’s best opponent hitting percentage mark even lower from .158 to .146. Meanwhile UCLA’s Daenan Gyimah secured his hold on the title of the nation’s most efficient player.
