In the 11th year of the award, the AVCA has announced their High School Senior All-America Team for boys’ volleyball. There were a record 90 athletes nominated for the award, with only high school seniors whose high school head coach is an AVCA member eligible.
The 20 student-athletes selected were products of 15 different high schools from across the country. Loyola High School of LA led all schools with three total nominees, while Pepperdine, Stanford and UC Irvine have the most commits coming in for next season with three each.
The AVCA Boys’ High School Senior All-America Committee consists of: Neiad Ammary (Liberty High School), Doug Manning (University of Southern Mississippi), Bill Schreier (Wheaton Warrenville South High School), Mark Brubaker (La Costa Canyon High School), Rhonda Low (Cathedral High School), Bruce Honberger (Granite Bay High School), Michael Boehle (Loyola High School of Los Angeles), Matt Marrujo (Servite High School), David Jones (La Jolla High School).
On the first-team, UC Irvine will bring in Sean Farmer a setter and Zevan Williams a middle blocker. Heading to BYU, Garrett Halsey and Charile Siragusa each made the first-team selection.
