Baylor has announced the early enrollment of two incoming freshmen for the 2018 season in Shanel Bramschreiber and Bri Coleman. Both Bramschreiber and Coleman are eligible to practice and compete in the spring season and will have four years of eligibility in the NCAA heading into next season.
Bramschreiber will be coming in as a strong libero for the team. She earned an Honorable Mention Under Armour All-America status this past season with Lovejoy High School. Additionally, the Plano, Texas native was named the TAVC 5A Defensive Player of the Year and District 15-5A MVP for her team. Bramschreiber has also competed in the Junior National Championships during her prep days.
Coleman is a product out of Valencia, California who spent the fall semester with College of the Canyon, a junior college in her hometown. Coleman was a 2016 graduate who was selected as the All-SCV Volleyball Player of the Year after leading her team with 293 kills as well as 235 digs and 47 aces on the year.
Baylor advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season and finished the year with a 24-7 record along with a 13-3 mark in the Big 12 – enough to put them in second place in the league.
Also joining Baylor for the 2018 season will be junior transfer Gia Milana out of Maryland. Milana left the Terrapin’s program after two strong years after head coach Steve Aird left to coach at Big Ten foe Indiana.
