Both Brazilian teams beat their home-crowd United States opponents to move on to the gold medal round at the Fort Lauderdale Major.

Semifinal #1

First, Evandro/Loyola dominated a 2-0 sweep of Lucena/Dalhausser to clinch their berth in the medal final. The 21-16, 21-19 match was mostly dominated by the visiting team. Brazil never trailed in the first set and led almost the entire second in the big tourney win.

Semifinal #2

The second semi was even more lopsided. Filho/Barbosa of Brazil won the opening set 21-16, then rolled over Americans Hyden and Doherty with a 21-9 final set. The 2-0 match set up both Brazilian teams to play for gold, while the Americans would clash for silver.
