FAIRFAX, Virginia – Senior libero Catie Espinoza set the program standard for career digs against Fordham Friday night.
Espinoza pulled up 33 digs in the 3-1 victory to move her career total to 1,278, besting Jennifer Dinnaberg‘s total of 1,277 from 1991-94.

The 33-save effort marked the 12th double-digit dig tally of the season for the senior and her first 30-plus dig match in 2018.
Espinoza already boasted the school record for season digs with 483 in 2016 and ranked second in the category with 442 in 2017.
The Virginia Beach, Virginia, native set the school standard for digs in a match with 46 at Davidson on Oct. 21, 2016.
After registering just 136 digs as a rookie (1.36 per set), Espinoza piled up 483 digs (4.60 per set) as a sophomore and added 442 (4.56 per set) in 2017.
All told, she has posted 59 double-digit dig efforts, including 20 or more digs on 19 occasions and 30 or more three times.

George Mason moved to 5-9 on the season and 3-1 in Atlantic 10 Conference with the 25-9, 25-17, 23-25, 25-22 victory.
The Patriots will look to extend their three-match win streak when they play Rhode Island at 5 p.m. ET Saturday.
