OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Luke Braswell – Penn State – 6-4 – Setter – R.S.-Sophomore – Manchester, Pa.
R.S.-Sophomore Luke Braswell has been selected as the EIVA Offensive Player of the Week as he averaged 9.86 assists per set in a 2-0 week for #9 Penn State. Braswell recorded 39 assists in a 3-1 victory at home against Mount Olive, and then followed with a 30 assist performance in a sweep of Alderson Broaddus. He would help the Nittany Lions hit .522 overall as a team during last week as Braswell also recorded four kills. This is Luke’s first EIVA Offensive Player of the Week selection in 2018.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Brandon Greenway – Charleston (W.Va.) – 6-4 – OH – Junior – Baltimore, Md.
Junior Brandon Greenway has been selected as the EIVA Defensive Player of the Week after recording 10 total blocks and 17 digs in a 2-0 week for Charleston (W.Va.). Greenway recorded six total blocks and four digs in a 3-1 victory against Limestone, and then followed with 13 digs and four total blocks, while also recording 13 kills on the offensive end for a double-double, in a sweep of Erskine. The Golden Eagles participated in Off the Block’s Inaugural Grow the Game Challenge hosted by Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tenn. as Brandon was named to the All-Tournament Team. This is Greenway’s first EIVA Defensive Player of the Week selection in 2018.
