The Colorado volleyball team will host its annual Black & Gold Scrimmage at Coors Events Center on Saturday, August 19, at 3 p.m.

Admission is free and doors open at 2:30 p.m. Parking is also free in the RG Zone lot (parking structure) next to Coors.

After spending almost a full week (Aug. 12-18) at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., the Buffs will be able to put it all together in a match format in front of the fans.

Upon the conclusion of the scrimmage, the team will host at kids clinic for kids 12 and under.

The scrimmage will also be the first chance for fans to see the new center hung video board, which was installed this summer. The system includes almost 700 square feet of 6-millimeter digital high definition LED boards and state-of-the-art video processing and graphic interfacing capabilities.

The boards, which will include a center court camera recessed in a CU logo, are the latest in a series of improvement to the Events Center over the past decade, including three significant improvements in the past year.  Last summer, a new Bose sound system was installed and the 2016-17 athletic seasons saw a redesign of the court.

The season officially starts August 25 at the NIKE Invitational in Norman, Okla. The Buffs will face off against Northwestern State on August 25 and on August 26, CU will take on Seton Hall and former Big Eight/12 rival Oklahoma. Colorado will open the home portion of the season, Sept. 2-3, with the Omni Invitational.
